Pirate Crew Tips For You

One hand for the boat,

unless you fancy a chilly float.

Until your feet hit the shore,
a life jacket must be wore.

No crisps in the bed -

unless you’d like to lose your head.

Speaking of sheets,

keep little fingers out of the cleats.

If you hear the word tack,

duck quickly to avoid a whack.

And be sure to listen to the captain -

if you want nothing bad to happen.

About Our Pirate Crew Tips

These pirate crew tips have all been passed down from my husband, Captain Ian Heffernan, to his own real‑life pirate crew — Brendan Fox and Noah Jay — aboard our family sailing yacht, Kadoona.

Defenders of the “youngest crew” title at the Crosshaven Trad Sail since birth, infamous treasure‑seekers and baddie hunters through the caves of White Bay, and with enough offshore miles under their belts to easily qualify for a Fastnet — no two are better equipped to advise aspiring pirates.
